Calming the Chaos by Jamie Lynn
Jake, one of Kaden's former packmates, took the opportunity to join Dry Lake Pack after the death of his alpha. He was still finding his place in his new pack when Dry Lake was selected to be the first group to move out of the underground. The move was stressful and dangerous. What he least expected on move-in day was to see a man on the side of the road being beaten while down on his knees and unable to defend himself. Jake stopped the truck they were driving which was loaded with Dry Lake Pack members to intervene.
Rusty spent his life trapped in his own mind by his autism and by the abuse and neglect of his parents. No one around him would have guessed the brilliant mind that lay just below the surface. Rusty longed for someone to see that he was bright, funny, sarcastic, and desperate to escape his parents and their abuse. Jake saved Rusty off the side of the road and for the first time in his life, Rusty had someone that saw through his involuntary sounds and movements and him as a person. Jake was a bit apprehensive about Rusty being his fated mate, but sometimes it takes a bit of faith and trust that maybe, just maybe, the Goddess knows what she's doing after all.
