Abondiel Reborn: The Reborn Series by Stormy McKnight
Abondiel Reborn is the third title in the Reborn series. The first in the series is Alea Reborn followed by Emily Reborn, both of which are currently available as ebooks. The series is based on the question: is there life after death? Since I am a firm believer in using humor in my books I took this question and answered with the most harried, over-worked Universally Appointed Afterlife Social Worker I could think up. Flaura isn't someone you encounter every day and both Alea and Emily have different reactions to her. If you haven't read those two stories it isn't required to enjoy Abondiel, but I hope that you give them a chance and read them as well.

In Abondiel Reborn we have the continuation of life on Prion in the Elven community of Abondiel. (Just because a human energy is reborn doesn't mean it would stay human.) Elli, or Elliseena Beldroth, is the first female born in thousands of cycles (or years to us humans) and is leading the charge for the next generation of females born into the community. Since Elli is being groomed as the next Master Arborist she has been allowed to do something no other female has done in the history of Abodniel. Elli is included on a mission to the ground since it is the perfect place for her to learn about the trees they live in from the roots up. Once on the ground, Elli is excited to be surrounded by the different energy of the plants, trees, and flowers. The only hiccup to the whole experience is the rain. The almost constant deluge of water is really hampering her explorations! At the first break in the weather, Elli leaves her tent to examine a group of trees in the "safe zone" her friend and guard Alden Stonarch has provided. What could possibly go wrong?

Thorn Tor'Caryn is a commander and diplomat for the community of Glenvale. His latest mission to the Elven city of Ravenmere has proven disastrous and now he and his brothers are being hunted. With no other choice, Thorn is forced to travel in the deepest, darkest, oldest part of the forest even though every northern clansman knew to use the roads and wouldn't dare travel this direction. Thorn has never believed the tales of the Tree Elves and their pagan witches, they were told to scare children and keep them in line. Besides, he has the more pressing matters of survival on his mind and traveling through the forest is saving time. Thorn almost believed they would make it home without further incident when a small orphan boy comes across him bathing in a hot spring and promptly faints at the sight of him. Thorn is torn between his ever present desire to help those less fortunate and taking on responsibility for the ragged teenager. How can he justify leaving the boy behind when he knows there are dangers around every corner?

Tree Elves and women with the supernatural ability over fire and plants don't exist.

Ground Elves are violent, insane, bloodthirsty savages that can't be trusted.

Sometimes we have to discard what we know to be true and in the process find a love that will change the course of history.

Abondiel Reborn.

Note: This book is an erotic read. I call a spade a spade...a heart a heart. If you don't like steamy sex scenes and calling anatomical parts by their correct terms you can skip those scenes...and there are more than a few!!! Life is short and sex isn't something those in Abondiel shy away from. Happy reading!
