Rubin has been living at Omega House for longer than he cares to admit. He likes it there and doesn't have much ambition to move out. Still, it seems like everyone who comes into his life winds up leaving again, making it difficult to form lasting friendships. In order to meet new people, he decides to take a part time job at a local bar when he's not working at Omega House.

Marius's job usually has him feeling unstoppable, but his personal life has left him feeling vulnerable. As a straight alpha, he's never been interested in omegas...especially men. He's only dated women who were betas or alphas. But his last girlfriend wanted more of a commitment from him than he was willing to give, so he knew it was time to move on. Now that he's single, Marius is bored and lonely, so he's spending more time at local bars to find his next fling.

When some rough customers assault Rubin in the alley behind the bar, Marius steps in to stop them, saving Rubin's life. And despite Marius's insistence that he's straight, it seems that he and Rubin were meant to be more than just passing acquaintances.
