Highland Savior by Jamie MacSeaver
Arabel Craig has never been afraid of anything. She was always living for the moment and fending for herself at an early age. Losing her parents made her realize that love could be taken away at a moment's notice. It was a good thing that her father had treated her like his son giving her the tools to survive in a harsh world.

However, she was never one to feel inferior to any man or even need a man to love. She's not like other women living and breathing for their family. One day, Arabel finds something unexpected floating in the river. Can her discovery begin to mend her broken heart by tending to another's needs?

Cinead Dougal has known hardships fighting on the field of battle against his enemies. He doesn't like showing weakness and feeling powerless is an emotion that he isn't used to. He suffers from the fear of letting his people down when they need him the most, such as in times of war. His father taught him to be responsible for the little people. Dying is not going to be his legacy. Are his father's words able to comfort him in his hour of need?

Arabel catches Cinead by surprise with her compassion and caring disposition. It's not long before he feels something for her even though he equates it to what in modern times would be known as Nightingale syndrome. Can they find their way through the misconceptions about each other to an unspoken future?

Cinead will have to depend on Arabel showing weakness and vulnerability that scares him. The time spent getting to know Arabel will be a time for him to celebrate his freedom. Can Arabel teach him some valuable lessons about being a man? Is it possible for Cinead to teach her some valuable lessons about love? Will Cinead and Arabel survive the chaotic battle for power that surrounds them to find peace and love?
