The Healing Kitty: (The Kitty Chronicles) by Heather Rae
In order to obtain a position of power, one relied on hard work and pure determination. Those two things, Kinsley Malone believed, directed an individual’s path in life. Silly notions such as luck, fate or kismet were nonexistent in her world. One didn’t become vice president of marketing by way of hopes, prayers and a lucky rabbit’s foot. If that were the case, Kinsley would have taken Friday as an omen to the weekend. As she walked into the offices of Clark and Associates that morning, anticipation and excitement fueled Kinsley for the inevitable promotion...that never came. Feeling hurt and burned, Kinsley begins to question her own loyalty while failing at disguising the fury and animosity she had for Hudson Ellis and his annoying twang.

From the moment she entered the board room, Hudson Ellis was drawn to Kinsley. The woman had a presence which couldn’t be ignored. From the confident voice to her walk, full of both pride and power. She commanded the room, demanded their attention. Not to mention the rich skin, glowing with the fragments of stardust she was born of. A damn goddess. One that, incidentally and inadvertently, Hudson Ellis landed on the bad side of. But as the newly appointed president of marketing, Hudson had one priority; make things right with Miss Malone. How he would achieve that, well, he was open to any and all suggestions.

With her friend’s upcoming nuptials days away, Kinsley shifts her focus on the weekend celebration instead of dwelling on her own pain and disappointment. Away from the hustle and bustle that is New York City, a countryside estate provides the perfect venue for the group to relax and enjoy each other’s company before the ceremony. However, no amount of planning could have prepared Kinsley for the continued spiral that was now her life. A stray mischievous cat insists on making himself at home. A trio of strippers turn into a sloppy mess. Not to mention the man she currently loathes attempts to invade every inch of her personal space. It is when the bride’s aunt arrives, with not only her unconventional beliefs but questionable advice and array of ‘special’ gifts, that Kinsley begins to understand the importance of balance in life.
