Nathan Erickson is a writer who gets his inspiration from old books. While shopping at his favorite niche bookseller Nathan ends up with a strange black leather bound tome. When he tries to read it later, the contents within are written in a language Nathan has never seen before. And that’s when things start to get strange. Suddenly Nathan can read the words, only to discover the unassuming book he purchased is actually a book of spells.
Nathan decides to try out a spell, with the logic it would give him firsthand experience for the story later. Only against the odds the spell actually works, leaving Nathan with a different kind of fox for a familiar. Inari the kitsune turns Nathan’s life upside down while at the same time showing Nathan exactly what he was missing.
