The Lemon Blossom by Phillip Sweeny
Thomas Hebert returns to his bayou country home seeking to escape and heal the devastation and nightmares induced by his covert operative role in the deserts and mountains of Afghanistan. At first, all goes according to plan. He buys an old house and settles into a quiet routine. Now, in a type of aloneness he has never experienced, he soon realizes there is something missing in his life—he has never been in love. Love—the last thing he thought would enter into his mind—until Milanci Milou Breaux bursts onto the scene. In no time he becomes immersed in her and a slave to her sexual whims. But something still seems missing and then there is the other thing with which he has to deal. The house he purchased came with a reputation. The upstairs’ bedroom had been the scene of the tragic death of a young girl and the local’s whisper of hauntings. Thomas doesn’t believe in such, and invites Milanci to share his bed. Why does the pleasant humming sound which comes from the bedroom of the deceased girl grow into the sound of angry bees every time Milanci walks past? Thomas will soon find out. Soon, he will meet---the Voodoo Queen.
