Yesterday I helped fight off a rogue vampire attack and stopped a demon from rising through the floor of my yoga studio. A demon my brother summoned, right before he vanished. A demon he used to date, and, in fact, brought to Thanksgiving at my house last year. (She swiped the last piece of pumpkin pie—I should have known she was a hell-beast.)
Now I have to track down that brother before he tries to raise his evil lover again and ruins someone else’s floor. Or, you know, destroys the world.
So yeah, I’m way too busy to be thinking about Rufus’ chakras. I’m also too busy to wonder why my body heats up and starts to tingle every time he touches me. Nope. Not thinking about that at all.
Rufus: I haven’t been able to shift into wolf form or, er, transform ANY part of my body for ten years. So of course I’m a little cranky. A decade of sexual frustration would put anyone in a bad mood.
One look at the sweet blonde witch and I know she’s my mate, but what witch is going to want a werewolf who can’t shift? And what woman is going to want a man whose body is incapable of giving her the satisfaction she deserves?
I should run, but Morgan is in danger, and my wolf is desperate to get out and protect her. I can’t leave my mate, so we’re heading back to the place I swore I’d never go again. Alaska. Straight into the heart of my old pack’s territory. If they find me, they’ll kill me, but I’ll take that risk. I’ll do anything to keep Morgan safe. She’s mine.
