Michael is a man with a dreadful secret; he knew Gwen had killed their child but although it couldn't be proved he never forgave her. Now suppressed guilt haunts him until a chance acquaintance awakens other, more powerful memories and now Michael can't forgive himself. As Michael tries to purge his own guilt through confession we begin to understand the burden he carries; not only for the death of his baby son but the tragic consequences of his love for his best friends' wife.
