Nixie Daniels loves her cozy little cul-de-sac. Until the house next door sells. Her new neighbor is inconsiderate and cranky. He calls her beloved Italian greyhound, Totino, a mutt. He blocks her driveway with his moving truck, making her miss getting her favorite morning treat at the new bakery in town. The final straw is when he has her water turned off by mistake.

Rye Larsen is finally doing something for himself, rather than what his family expects. He's bought a house--not a McMansion--on a cozy cul-de-sac in the suburbs. He's realized his dream of owning his own bakery. He's got a beautiful, albeit high-maintenance, fiancee. He's living his best life.
