Who knew arranging a sweet sixteen birthday party would be so difficult?

The last few weeks had been a blur of phone calls and meetings. Arranging the music, arranging the decorations... the cake, the flowers, the lighting, the servers... the food.

Somehow, and with absolutely no help from Simone's father, it was all finally coming together and things were starting to look good. Yes, I felt like I'd aged 5 years in the last two months, and yes I was still angry at David, Simone's father, for refusing to hire a party planner, but it would all be worth it when I saw Simone smiling and having fun with her friends. David could try and ruin things all he liked. Now we were finally divorced, he was no longer my problem and I refused to let him spoil my mood. 

In fact, if I was being honest, I was glad of the distraction. Being a divorcee with a teenage daughter was some how way more lonely than being in an unhappy marriage with a teenage daughter. Not that I regretted anything! If anything I should have done this ages ago, but we'd stayed together for Simone's sake.

Anyway, I'd gotten sick of spending my days at the gym, trying to burn off all the calories from the wine and food I'd been consuming with my girl friends. Staying up late, gossiping and bitching about men was starting to loose its appeal, not to mention effect my wasteline!

It was time I found something.... or someone, who could fill the whole in the my life. 

But good things can come from unexpected places...

The moment I met Armande Gilbére I knew he would do more than just provide the party with amazing food. He was tall, dark, and handsome, and his deep French accent made my head spin! Not only that, but the way he looked at me made me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world.
