Zoey thought her future was bright when she left her home on a southern farm to follow a man across country to the beautiful state of Colorado. That light was snuffed out when she was unceremoniously kicked to the curb. After wandering aimlessly with everything she owned in the world in the backseat of her car, an invisible force guided her high into the Rocky Mountains. Tucked in a small scenic valley, she found her quiet little corner in a town named Windgate.

Just as Zoey was about to toss her waitress uniform to the side to head into the kitchen to embrace her hidden passion as a baker, the universe wielded its magic again. This time it plucked Ryan from his big city life in his designer suits and blew him across Windgate's border, leaving him stranded.
