Mortal Enemies: A Paranormal Women's Fiction: Celtic Knot Book 3

I got to get the hang of this 'Celestial Goddess' thing. Or I’m dead meat.
Hey! You want a bunch of magical powers? Really?
Don’t let anyone kid you—being a Celestial goddess with magical powers isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Take my word for it.
Having magical powers can be a real PITA. And if you’re new at it, you screw stuff up. Believe me…
It seems like a lifetime ago that I, Bernadette Adelson of New York City won a vacay to Ireland in some stupid online contest. The life I had before visiting the Emerald Isle, just trying to keep my head above water slinging drinks in some bar is well and truly gone.
Today? Well, I’m a ‘Celestial Goddess’ who doesn’t really know what she’s doing, OK? I’ve got all these magical powers—I can make solid gold appear out of thin air with a thought, I can read minds, I can transform into a wolf—but I’m really, really new at this and have pretty much screwed things up every time I went into ‘magic mode’ or whatever.
I’ve travelled to Otherworld (yeah, that’s what they call it). Things really didn’t work out too well for me there—let’s just say falling hard for Lugh, a god who rules that place, got really complicated really, really fast.
So now I’m back in ‘Da Bronx’ with my two bestie housemates, Darby and Pru. I’ll get over that guy, and we’re going to live large. (One plus of ‘Celestial Goddess-hood’ is that you can conjure up all the money you want). A condo in Manhattan is just the start.
Unless you screw it up.
Yup.
YOU think that having magical powers is cool, right? Yeah, so do a lot of other people—mafia thugs for starters. They’re willing to kill all my friends and family if I don’t become their Golden Goose.
That’s nothing compared to what a billionaire at death’s door will do when he gets wind of me. He wants Eternal Life and will kill to get it.
But the worst of it is when some ‘super secret Government Agency’ (yeah, just like magic, those jerks exist too) finds out about me. They think I’m the greatest thing since the A-Bomb and want me all to themselves.
Sigh…
I got to get the hang of this Goddess thing. Or I’m dead meat.
