Repression had obliterated my existence. My mother, Queen Mireya, kept me under an iron grip my entire nineteen years. I had no idea why I was so important to the Coven, but that no longer mattered. All I knew was that I needed to be close to him—Alessandro Mwangi. It knew what I was feeling was wrong, but I couldn't help myself, nor could he.
The scent of him alone was worth the risk. Alessandro and I had to transgress against the rule of the Coven and broke our chains of oppression for a single kiss, touch, and glance—we knew that much to be true.
