A Bride for Matthias by Courtney Willis
A western retelling of Beauty and the Beast...

Matthias Hardcastle is known as the Beast of Hopeless, Colorado, for his scarred face and reclusive nature. When a traveling salesman trespasses on his ranch and kills his bull, the only way the man can repay him is by offering the hand of his daughter in marriage. Seeing it as a way to avoid unwanted local attention, Matthias agrees, but demands his wife be secured by a proxy marriage.

Annabelle Reed is disappointed in her father's decision to sacrifice his daughter, but even more so in her new name-only husband. He is cruel and distant, though she can tell he is not the monster he professes to be, which makes her determined to uncover the truth. But the more she gets to know him, the more she finds herself falling for him and wanting his love in return.

Can Matthias let down the walls around his heart, or are there more nefarious pieces at play that will keep them apart?
