She focuses on her job as a university librarian and on creating a charitable fund to support closed-head trauma research, but money is tight. While hiking in the Ozarks, she shares a trail shelter with a wet and weary hiker. He’s charming. She’s attracted. Things are looking up.
 
Jason Montague counts his blessings. His unplanned hike ended in the company of an experienced hiker. He’s captivated by Cara, but as the Doncaster Foundation’s chairman, he holds the future of her charity in his hands. When he’s forced to reveal his epilepsy, his hope for a personal relationship vanishes. Back at Doncaster’s Midwest office, Jason discovers missing money, a missing employee, and negative media spin. Things are not looking good.
