Ax: Knights of the Underworld Book Two by Lula Monk

Persie doesn’t like this whole “companion” idea. She can take care of herself; she doesn’t need some angry fighter from the Pits to keep an eye on her. But the longer she is around harsh warrior Axiocerses, the more she finds he's less rough around the edges than he lets on.

Ax is bitter about most of his life. As one of Hades’ bastard sons, he is condemned to spend his life fighting in the Pits, bringing amusement to the citizens of Elysium. And now, his older brother Uragus has saddled him with one of the newcomers. But Ax doesn’t want to fight for entertainment, and he damn sure doesn’t want to babysit some woman. What he wants is to train an army to fight for the Underworld, when the time comes. His resolve to cause rebellion in Elysium is stifled by Persie’s presence. Something about the Earth woman makes Ax want to do the right thing.

Will Axiocerses crumble his walls to let Persie in? Will Persie find the strength to join ranks in a battle she feels unprepared to fight?
