Modern day Detroit: Life for Mary Katherine Smith was anything but loving. She worked hard to move up, only to get knocked down by the evils of the world. Mary thought growing up in the system prepared her for all the disappointments in life, yet one chaotic scene nearly destroyed her. Two spunky elves, posing as church administrators, showed up at her door persuading Mary to let them give her assistance with relocating. Wyoming 1869: Jacob Sullivan struggled with life on the homestead, a new baby, and the death of his wife. After months of being alone and needing help, he ordered a bride. Arriving at the train station, he searched for his Mary, only to find a woman claiming to be Mary Smith and has never been married. Uncertainty, desperation, and an instant attraction compelled him into asking for her hand in marriage.
