Modern day Detroit: Life for Mary Katherine Smith was anything but loving. She worked hard to move up, only to get knocked down by the evils of the world. Wyoming 1869: Jacob Sullivan struggled with life on the homestead, a new baby, and the death of his wife. After months of being alone and needing help, he ordered a bride. Arriving at the train station, he searched for his Mary, only to find a woman claiming to be Mary Smith and has never been married. Uncertainty, desperation, and an instant attraction compelled him into asking for her hand in marriage.
