Her Heart in His Pocket: A Christmas Novella by Donna MacMeans
In this Victorian Christmas novella, a former pickpocket and current ladies' maid, is whisked off by her employer to Caynham Castle in Shropshire, England. While her mistress searches for a wealthy suitor, Elisabeth discovers the man who murdered her brother. She anticipates he plans a similar fate waits for her, until an old friend offers protection.

Upon receipt of a mysterious invitation to a holiday ball at Caynham Castle, Ben, an orphaned child raised on the streets of London's underworld, travels to Shropshire, pretending to be a house servant. He discovers a friend, justice for a murderer, and long-sought answers to questions about his heritage. In short, a perfect Christmas!

Her Heart in His Pocket incorporates several characters from Redeeming the Rogue. While written as part of the Christmas at Caynham Castle anthology, the choice of the hero of the story was made from a polling of readers from my newsletter subscribers.
