Brad Smith is stretched just about to the breaking point. Monday through Friday he works full-time in New York City, but every Friday after work he flies to Florida to care for his elderly father, returning to New York early on Monday morning to do it all again. For a year he’s run this marathon, but his father’s decline into dementia demands more care than Brad can provide by himself.

The help he needs comes in the form of ex-soldier, Todd. Brad and Todd’s paths never cross until one unexpected but memorable morning. Todd became an angel to Brad in more ways than one.

As the end approaches, Todd never leaves Brad’s side. After the funeral, just as Brad was about to ask Todd out, he finds that someone else has swooped in and taken his place. But when Todd loses his job and his boyfriend, Brad invites him to New York. Their time together is perfect – until Todd decides to return to Florida.

Brad is left heartbroken and angry. But when he gets a call that Todd has been badly injured in an accident, Brad flies south to see Todd through the worst. One run-in with Todd’s father scares him into taking Todd north to New York with him. Will his previous heartbreak just repeat again? Or can he do something to make the outcome different this time? Can they both figure out that love conquers fear in time?
