Rebecca Ling has been living a relatively normal life for a shapeshifter. Her job in the lab at the Woodland Park Police Department has afforded her enough excitement to keep her shifter self under control. When a mysterious blond man, Riker Ford, ends up in a holding cell babbling about experiments at a hidden facility in the woods, Rebecca finds her world turned upside down.

Riker Ford barely escaped death at the hands of his captors. He is bent on taking down the organization that tried to kill him and is willing to do just about anything to save his fellow prisoners. Surprised by Rebecca's concern when he winds up in jail, he realizes she might be the help he needs. When Rebecca reveals Riker's shapeshifter abilities, however, it’s almost too much for his damaged psyche to handle.
