Walk With Me by Emily Fern
Lacy Thomas wanted to run away. In fact, she tried to. The pain of betrayal was so great. So was the pressure of having to figure out what to do about her engagement to be married. She figured if she hightailed it to her Aunt Velma’s and holed up there for a while maybe all the answers to her troubles would magically appear.

Instead, Micah Perry and his little daughter Naomi appeared. Micah rode in one day to bring his deathly ill daughter to see the doctor. And it took everyone in the house—Doc Mitchell, Aunt Velma, Lacy and Micah—to get Naomi through the night.

There’s no way Mr. Perry—a widower—can care for Naomi alone once he goes home and has all his work keeping up his farm to do, Lacy thought. But what can I do?

She found herself praying about it. However, she never expected the answer she would receive.

It didn’t feel like she was walking by faith. It felt like she was stumbling into things like a rodeo clown. And like trouble, not blessing, followed in her wake. But she and Micah had been set on a journey. And, through it all, the word came to them over and over:
Walk With Me.
