“Sam the Book Lady” has her own story to tell. You may have read about her in the prior stories. Did you know that she was once an orphan? She left the orphanage at eighteen with some cash they allotted her and a carpet bag with her belongings and began a journey to look for the man she thinks is her father in Cooper’s Ridge.

Once she gets there, she doesn’t want him to know who she is yet, realizing all the good he us doing and she isn’t ready to reveal herself since he was recently married. So, she becomes the book lady, leasing a building and running her own book store. The only proof she has is a small piece of jewelery from her dead mother. If you haven’t read THE CHRISTMAS INN, Sam was in that story.

What happens when she meets up with a hard-nosed man with an orphan who wants to learn to read and he doesn’t think the child needs books in her life? For Sam, she has to give that child a reading education. This is her story.
