This is a story about self-forgiveness, temporary love, rattlesnakes, old couches, and a shark nightlight.

Isaiah, an ex-con, tries to move past the worst mistake of his life while driving the same road where it happened. Luce, a former sex worker, looks to turn over a new leaf when she winds up pregnant from a one night stand. On her way back to her hometown, Luce's car breaks down just outside of Las Vegas. She and Isaiah meet at an auto shop, and a series of events starting with being held at gunpoint bring them into each other's lives headfirst.

Luce needs a thousand dollars to fix her car. Isaiah pitches a scheme: make the money in twenty-four hours so Luce can get back on the road, no strings attached. Nothing illegal, just flipping some furniture and picking up a party gig with his sister's catering company. For him, it starts as just a way to pass the time. For her, it's a chance to move forward. But as they explore the city with new eyes, ghosts of the past start to unveil themselves.

This is a love story. Kind of.
