Spirit of Spring: God of Ostara by J. Rose Allister
The third in a series of erotic romance fantasy novellas…

It is the time of Imbolc, and Tallisun, god of the sabbat, has little interest in his role. He is duty bound to bed a lovely maiden for a ritual of spring, but he would much rather be part of the Three Horns hunt commemorating the Thousand Seasons. Since his father refused to let him attend, Tallisun has gone off on a hunt of his own, only to nearly shoot a beautiful earth woman who unknowingly stumbles in front of his arrow. He follows the sexy stranger back to camp, and to retaliate for costing him his trophy, he steals her garments while she bathes in a nearby lake.

Harper is more than a little freaked when her clothes disappear in a part of the woods she thought was deserted. The last thing she expects is to discover they were taken by a handsome, well-built male who is clearly off his rocker. After all, who else runs around the forest wearing antlers and claiming to be a god? To her shock, Tallisun proves his horns are real, and that the god of Ostara has intentions toward her that are intriguingly less than platonic.

Tallisun makes her an offer: let him hunt her in the woods, and if he catches her, she will agree to become the spring maiden in a carnal ritual he has become more interested in than ever. Harper might not mind snuggling up to such a delicious morsel, but his irritating doubt in her own survival skill prompts her to one-up his challenge. He will not hunt her—they will hunt each other.

Their challenge will take them to a place of primal yearning, along with the discovery that it can be just as pleasurable to be hunted as to be the hunter. Embracing the sabbat together will have unexpected consequences for them both, a longing in their hearts and a change in their very spirits that their mutual decision to part cannot quell.
