Author Lucy Bretton's relationship with her fiancé, Wyatt has hit a brick wall. It's been two years since he proposed, yet any mention of setting a wedding date causes him to repel away. Discouraged, Lucy can't seem to write even a paragraph on the next installment of her small-town Christmas series. She seeks wisdom from her granddad, a semi-retired writer, as how she can get back on track. He gives it to her straight - the only way to fix her writing woes is to fix what’s ailing her heart. To start the process, he recommends Lucy put some distance between her and Wyatt to get her fiancé’s true feelings to surface. He encourages her to spend Christmas in his hometown of Cranberry Creek, Massachusetts.

Logan Gabriel took a hiatus from his job in Ohio to help his parents in Massachusetts with their cabin rental business during the busy holiday season. He's happy to go home to lend a hand; at the same time, he dreads it because inevitably he’ll cross paths with the woman who a year ago tore his heart to shreds the night before they were to be married.

A fender-bender throws Lucy and Logan together. An exchange of frustration morphs into humor and sparks something neither one expected. From there, it becomes a Christmas season unlike any other, for them both.
