The History of New Beginnings by Erin Parisien
Norah planned to spend her fortieth birthday on a tropical island, a drink in her hand and her best friend by her side. When her best friend has to cancel at the last minute, Norah can either not go and forfeit her money, or take the plunge and go it alone. Going alone turns out to be the best decision she’s ever made. What she doesn't expect is to witness Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor being humiliated in a cozy little hideaway tucked away on the beach, by a woman who is far too young for him to begin with. With nothing to lose, she sends him a drink, never thinking that he’ll actually seek her out. Or join her.

Fifty-two-year-old superstar Henry Carmichael is tired. He’s tired of being Hollywood royalty, he's tired of the lack of privacy that comes with fame and he's tired of everyone else’s expectations. He is thankful though, that this latest humiliation occurred away from the public eye and the ever-present paparazzi. Not that his relationship with the starlet of the week was going anywhere except in the toilet anyway, but it is reassuring to know that his breakup won't be splashed on the cover of all the tabloids. And just when he thinks his night can't get better, a drink arrives from the beautiful stranger across the bar.

But are fame, insecurities and past hurts too much for a happily ever after?
