Jacob Blade Vigilante: Gunfight at Dead Man’s Canyon: A Western Adventure by Charles Ray
Just as Jacob Blade and Penny Coppersmith ride into Cambridge Junction, thieves rob the bank, killing the bank clerk and two customers and shooting up the town. They’re almost caught in the crossfire, but duck into an alley for cover. Before they can shoot back the outlaws make their getaway. The town’s sheriff and the bank manager offer them a sizeable reward if they can capture the thieves and recover the stolen loot.

They track them across central Arizona, finally cornering them in Dead Man’s Canyon, a labyrinth of dead ends and narrow defiles that is almost as dangerous as the outlaws. Once in the canyon, they play a cat and mouse game and at times they’re not sure if they’re cat or mouse.
