Serendipity knocks and it's Ruthie's call to answer. Life stories from her teen years and on into adulthood. Will her life choices lead to serendipity? Coming of Age. Young Adult 1. The year was 1990, and Ruthie's boyfriend wanted to become a real man by cutting off his long hair. That's not the true way he's going to become a man. His girlfriend might have to help him see that. Somehow, they would realize how things that go wrong can shape who we are. Things can go right, if only they think on it. Feel what's happened. Give in to the love. 2. LAMENT NO Ruthie shared her story of physical pain with her boyfriend, now he tells it back to her as if in a dream. 3. Ruthie uses the walls to tear up her hands in a bout of self-loathing, but her boyfriend steps in and stops her sorrow. Guilt is a way to build walls in our minds, others can help us to tear them down. 4. THAT her car engine lit on fire! And then she shot heroin into her leg. ADULT Story 1 ALL HER Ruthie has finally bought a house for herself. It wasn't all bad having roomies, but now she's got a place all her own, and an interesting new neighbor to boot. Story 2 It's a lonely Christmas Eve for Ruthie anyway, so she happily agrees to purchase a last minute gift for a friend. Unfortunately, all the shops must be closed, right? Yet mysteriously one special little boutique is open. And when Ruthie buys the sex toy (honestly, it's for a friend's wife) she gets more than she bargained for, and the chance to make sure she never has a lonely Christmas time again. Story 3 Ruthie's divorce is finalized, so she goes out on the town to celebrate one last time. Because the next day she's flying home to America, probably for good. She gets pulled at the bar by a handsome stranger though, so maybe she will have an incentive to return to London for more than just one fun night. Story 4 Ruthie gets dumped, but she's not about to take it lightly. So she does what comes naturally to her, she stalks her ex boyfriend. Unwelcome fracases ensue, and Ruthie wonders if she's purposefully putting herself in harms way, because the cute paramedic guy who keeps coming to her aid might be the one to make her come to her senses. Story 5 SISTERLY Ruthie has spent way too much time in England, so she decides to go home to America and make amends with her younger sister. They do get on, but Ruthie really wants to set the record straight and put issues to rest once and for all. Story 6 BOOTY Ruthie gets a call in the middle of the night. She has to wonder who'd be so rude as to not text instead, so she could check her messages in the morning. But she takes the call anyway, in case it's an emergency. It is urgent! The guy she fancies big time has asked her to come to his place. Okay so it's like three in the morning. But she's had the hots for him for ages! So she gets up and drives to his place where something happens really quick, and it makes Ruthie wonder if she'll ever make better choices in life. Story 7 THE PUNCH OF Sometimes we don't get enough sleep in life, and that can lead to dark circles around the eyes. With everything that needs doing it can feel like life punches us right in the eyes sometimes. Story 8 THE Ruthie is going on a reality show, and she doesn't care what people think of her for it. She's opinionated in her wise forties, and the opposition members of the panel don't stand a chance of budging her position on matters in the slightest. Even the handsome guy she meets on the show is going to be in for an awakening, once Ruthie has her way.
