Soleil has never once experienced the fun and chaos that is Halloween. Every year her father locks her in her room for her protection. Halloween is the one night when the lines between worlds blur. Creatures of other realms wander into the human world, and he will not take any chances of harm coming to his daughter.

This year is different. This year will be the year that Soleil finally sneaks out and enjoys the town's annual Halloween festival and all the goodies it has to offer. What could possibly go wrong?

Soleil believes she has managed to experience a normal Halloween night. That is until she bumps into Jax, a half serpent demon. She knows she should just go home before her father realizes she is gone, but what would be the fun in that?
