A Sinful Christmas by Jackie Paxson
River

I should be on top of the world. My band is selling out stadiums, and every album is a hit. But I only feel frustration and disgust when I look at my bandmates. Success isn't what I thought it would be. My patience ran out, and I needed to get away. I "borrowed" a car and decided just to drive. I didn't count on the car dying in the middle of a snowstorm.

Trudging through a snowstorm to a lonely illuminated diner was not my idea of an escape. However, when I meet Piper and the people of Silver Bells, my life is turned upside down. I was never really a Christmas person, but the longer I spend in Silver Bells with Piper and her son, I can't imagine a better time of year.

I hate Christmas. Well, maybe hate is too strong of a word, but when you grow up in a town focused on the holiday all year round, you lose your love of twinkling lights and Santa Claus. Pushing my feelings aside, I try to ensure it's a memorable time of year for my son. So, it feels surreal when River Strom comes into the diner where I work. He's sexy and looks like trouble, even covered in snow. A part of me hopes he's my early Christmas present. The realistic part decides to pretend I have no idea who he is.

When he shows up at my house and worms his way into my and my son's lives for this holiday season, I can't help but fall for his charms. Even as I'm falling for the rock star, I know Christmas is only a season—a season where I may lose my heart to a man who could never be mine.
