When a teaching position opens up in her hometown of Paulson, Washington, sweet, soft-spoken Emma Keller anxiously applies for the job. She hopes her work as a teacher's aide will look good on her resume but there are three other candidates, and Emma fears they’re more assertive and better qualified. She also has to contend with unsupportive parents; her jealous older sister, Bree, who sabotages Emma’s every attempt to leverage herself; and Randy, a blind date gone awry. Fortunately, this Christmas season Emma has a mentor, Angie Jorgenson, who believes in her and in a God who actively works in people's lives. Angie also supports Emma's new relationship with Nathan, who might just be the man of her dreams if they could manage to spend more than two minutes together.Emma's doubts build as the job deadline draws near. Will she accept God's leading and find the courage she needs to stand up for herself? Or will she let another golden opportunity slip away?
