Daniel, a member of the southern gentry, soon learns the harsh realities of being poor. His father dies with a mountain of debt. Daniel sells his mount in order to keep his manservant James. He and James are secretly lovers but must hide their feelings to meet society’s expectations. Together they must work their asses off to get their farm to pay and ensure their survival.
