Pat Talbot is a lesbian butch and her twin sister, Pam, is a straight femme. Earthlings, they are both unattached at the moment, and book a three-day Christmas singles cruise on the Navire L’Amour to Jupiter.
Martians Tana and Atticus Marius love each other but are getting divorced. Tana is a lesbian, which has left Atticus out of the bedroom in a sexless marriage. They booked the cruise a year ago and agreed to be adult about it one last time.
Pat falls for Tana, and Pam for Atticus. Everything seems marvelous and love is in the stateroom, until a disastrous allergic reaction, a switching of identities, and bigotry against Martians dating Earthlings cause a riotous Christmas celebration.
