A Red Moon Rises : A Monsters of Iden Short Story by River Seabrook
The short story that started it all-- this version of A Red Moon Risesfeatures a NEW Alternate Ending plus a bonus chapter sneak peak at the full novel, Echoes of Iden book one in the Monsters of Iden series.

Two Spirits. One city. No moon.

Spirits of Nature and long time frenemies, wolf spirit Cait and cat spirit Milo have had a rocky relationship for centuries, ever since their disasterious first meeting. In the many years since, their garden paradise home Iden has been all but destroyed, transformed into a polluted urban wasteland by the humans. This new upsidedown world seems to have forgotten who the monsters are supposed to be and the lines between friend and foe have become increasingly blurred. Isolated from the others of their kind and hiding their true natures from the humans who would see them dead, Cait and Milo find themselves relying on eachother more and more. Buried feelings begin to arise between the natural enemies when a series of dangerous meetings ends with Cait making a wish and Milo laying his life on the line to make it happen. The wish? To see the moon. The problem? No one has seen the moon in years as it has been long obscured by a toxic smog layer known as The Haze.

But it's not the end of the world... or is it?

A Red Moon Rises is a no spice, high tension tale inspired by Japanese Folklore, perfect for fans of Arcane and Princess Mononoke.
