Damsel: A forbidden brother-in law romance by Joan Reeves
I never thought I'd end up here - desperately seeking the help of a wealthy "sugar daddy" just to make ends meet. But with my work hours slashed and the bills piling up, I'm running out of options. When my friend casually mentions a discreet online service that connects young women like me with older, affluent men, I'm both intrigued and horrified. I know it goes against everything I believe in, but the promise of financial security is too tempting to ignore.

After much internal debate, I take the plunge and sign up. I connect with Jude - a striking businessman with an air of mystery about him. There's an undeniable pull between us, and despite my better judgment, I find myself drawn into him. We enter into an arrangement, and at first, the exchange of my companionship for his financial support seems to be working.

But as time goes on, the guilt and unease over the transactional nature of our relationship becomes increasingly difficult to ignore. I reach a breaking point, and to my surprise, I actually summon the courage to terminate the arrangement, cutting ties with Jude. Or so I think.

When our paths cross again unexpectedly, and I find myself in the arms of Jude’s younger brother, the past comes rushing back. Jude is the forbidden flame that haunts me, while his brother is what I have always dreamed of. I'm trapped in a tangled web of desire, suspicion and deceit, unsure of who I can trust or what I truly want. All I know is that the stakes have been raised, and the consequences of my choices have become dangerously high.
