A 1969 Niagara University graduate, Joe Sheridan was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He served in the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam as a Cobra Helicopter Gunship Pilot. With over 350 combat missions from September 1970 to September of 1971, he earned two Bronze Stars with “V” device (valor), twenty Air Medals with valor, and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry.
