A Hybrid Holiday by Octavia Kore
Two families living under one dome, far away from Earth as Halloween approaches.

For Amanda, Oshen, and Gulzar, life has been one gift after the next since the birth of their twins. Not only do they have Oshen’s parents as a source of support, Amanda’s best friend Jun has come to live next door with her mates Brin and Nuzal—and Jun’s large, loud, and wonderful family who have been shipped straight to Venora from Earth.

As autumn falls back home on Earth, Amanda and a very pregnant Jun are homesick for their Hybrid Halloween celebration, a blend of American and Filipino traditions completely their own. Far away from home and under the perhaps too watchful eyes of their bondmates, it’s hard for the women not to feel nostalgic—and a little claustrophobic.

To give their mates some space and some peace of mind, Brin hatches a plan to recreate the girls’ Hybrid Halloween. In need of information on this curious ‘Halloween’ holiday, they turn to Jun’s mother, father, and younger siblings for assistance.

Can the males bring Amanda and Jun’s special celebration to life on Venora too, or will they—or somebody else in the family—accidentally let the secret plan slip first?
