After spending my childhood in an orphanage, surrounded by others, all I wanted was to be
alone. I had twelve years of silent bliss, then someone—or someones rather—had to come along and ruin it all.
There was something in me that craved these men, and I didn’t understand why. Why did I want them when all they did was turn my whole world upside down? All I knew was I had better figure it out quickly, because another one of my seasonal episodes was on its way. Maybe this time, I wouldn’t spend it alone?
But, did I want that?
