After Midnight by Stephanie Kelley
Killian is accustomed to a life of alcohol, drugs, and hookups. But when it all falls into chaos after he's accused of crimes he can't recall committing, he's desperate for a break. He jumps at the chance to honor his family's legacy when a one hundred and fifty year old stone church in the New England area is being repurposed into a library.

Grey doesn't care for humans. Through the centuries they've labeled him many demon, god, blessing, destroyer. The latest is gargoyle. He's had to deal with too many problematic humans through his extraordinarily long lifetime to let himself catch feelings for them any more. When Grey looks to hire a contractor to refurbish the stained glass of his new library, he was pleasantly surprised to find the original creator's company still in business.

Grey’s carefully curated life and feelings are turned upside down the longer he spends time with Killian. But any thoughts of sending Killian away are pushed aside when Grey realizes the same faction that has been hunting him for centuries is also after his newest employee. The gargoyle isn't willing to let the Concord of the Heavens take anything or anyone else from him.
