Samir Reed is my best friend, and I think I’m in love with him. It’s not his creamy brown complexion, the hazel eyes, his tall, athletic build – okay, maybe they have something to do with my attraction. Overall, though, he’s a good, decent hardworking man. He’s been my best friend since elementary school. Now, he’s engaged to another woman and I have to pretend I’m happy about it because he wants me there with him every step of the way.
But what about what I want?
Should I hold my peace and let the man I love marry someone else, or confess how I feel? At this point, both options may lead to disaster.
