Longing for a new beginning, Chilean-British teacher Victoria moves to Shanghai to immerse herself in Chinese culture to forget about her troubled past, however, the stars have other Victoria ends up looking after a Chinese stranger who had given her a helping hand before. She hopes that by assisting him, she will keep herself busy, but soon enough, she's thinking of him as much more than a charity case.

Chef JùnJié has had a tough time, too - his fiancée has passed away and months later, he suffers a beating. But an intriguing foreign girl, Victoria, accepts to help while he recovers. Things don't start off too well...she barely talks to him. Over time, she warms up and JùnJié realises he's thinking more about her than her fiancee. When he finally takes his chance on Victoria, he also realises that this person who is far from ticking all his boxes may be the one he's always dreamed of.

In the meantime, someone up above is secretly helping Victoria and JùnJié to overcome the obstacles that life throws at them, to prove to everyone their love is meant to be.
