The vampires slowly lose their foothold in the council; they fear if the demons win they will make sure the only coven in New Orleans is wiped. When they hear about a prison ship bringing women from France to be wed off or used to work, they cling on to hope that they may have a chance to pick the lucky woman who may have a drop of witch blood giving them back their hope.
With dead humans being left around the French Quarter the vampires are being blamed. They are running out of time to save their coven and save their own race from becoming extinct.
