Fur and Honor by J.L. Gribble
Unnecessary heroics

Dockworker Miles Cavanaugh fears for his livelihood after he permanently damages his legs while saving a stranger from injury. To keep the bills paid this winter, he accepts a position as personal assistant to one of the most powerful men in the city.

Unexpected possessiveness

Werewolf Hal Delacour never needed saving. He also doesn’t need a personal assistant. Too bad Hal’s wolf took one look at the human and said “mine.”

An unlikely connection

Hiring Miles assuages Hal’s guilt over the incident, but he should keep his distance instead of finding every excuse to keep his new assistant close. No matter what his wolf may think, and no matter how good Miles smells, no future exists between them.

Besides, Miles is a terrible personal assistant. He doesn’t make Hal’s life easier.

Together, though, they might make each other’s lives better.

Fur and Honor is an M/M paranormal romance featuring a boss/employee relationship, a persistent inner wolf, unconventional workplace solutions, and a New Year’s Eve party to remember. It is set in the same universe as the author’s Steel Bonds and Steel Empires series but can be read as a standalone novella with a happily ever after and no cliffhanger.
