Broken at Love
Teegan Loy

Ryder Showell was put on this earth to irritate me and disrupt my life. When I was a senior in high school, he transferred to my school and took my state tennis title away. I thought I’d be rid of him after graduation, but he was offered a scholarship at the same university as me. Freshman year I won the national singles title. He won the next two.
I was getting it back this year.
But then he gave up his scholarship and left school.
I should be happy.
I’m not.
Ryder
Leaving school when I was so close to a college degree was one of the most difficult decisions of my life. But family comes first, and I needed to help my younger sister. I thought Maxxie Levine would celebrate my absence. Instead, he’s asking my old roommate about me and voicing his concern.
Maxxie never liked me, and I buried my true feelings for him. He’d made it perfectly clear that he wanted nothing to do with me. I told myself leaving would make my life easier and force me to move on from him.
So why is he texting me?
