Brooklynn Wright is a quiet teenager living in her own personal hell. Living with her father and his girlfriend, abuse is the norm for both Brooklynn and her baby brother Monroe. As Monroe’s protector, Brooklynn feels that every decision she makes directly affects Monroe. With Brooklynn’s eighteenth birthday only a few weeks away, her life begins taking turns she never expected. With the entire world sitting on her back and shoulders, Brooklynn will do any and everything to free herself from her trauma. No matter the cost.

Keyshondra ‘Keys’ Jones is Brooklynn’s best friend and self proclaimed protector. She has been there for Brooklynn since the very first day they met and doesn’t plan on going anywhere anytime soon. As she helps her friend navigate through her emotions, she found herself falling in love with her friend. Not knowing whether Brooklynn feels the same or not, she suppresses those feelings until someone comes in and threatens to mess up everything Keys has built with Brooklynn. With her back against the wall, Keys will do pretty much anything to keep Brooklynn all to herself.
