Life Beyond Her Silver Chain

Elspet is a kelpie who has spent seven years in voluntary servitude, working on the farm of a witch who has promised to turn her into a human after ten years. Every lunar cycle she has one day of freedom, in which she transforms to a near-human shape to explore a new existence.

One such day, Elspet attends a party where she meets a married couple, Nuru and Subín. The two are raucous, entertaining, and carry secrets Elspet has a chance of learning if she accepts their offer for an intimate encounter.

But an evening of pleasure is more than the couple have to offer Elspet, if only she’ll accept them—and herself.
