Maurice & Julia, 1968 (All Tomorrow’s Photos #0.5)
S.S. Genesee

Maurice has always had troubles with girls, and at nineteen years old, he’s a little embarrassed to say he hasn’t even had his first kiss. He’s always been awkward, to the point where he doesn’t have any reliable friends.
But one fateful day hanging out at the malt shop, he meets Julia. She seems like the perfect girl in every way—friendly, beautiful, amazing music taste—and not only that, she actually asks him out on a date.
But Maurice doesn’t know everything about himself. Who he is, what he wants. Despite his desire for love, maybe Julia isn’t who he wants after all.
[Maurice & Julia, 1968 is a queer MF coming-of-age novelette. It is a look into the backstory of Maurice Rogers, the main character of S.S. Genesee’s duology, All Tomorrow’s Photos. This novelette can be read as a standalone.]
