The Sword and the Star (Carnival of Fae #0.5)

In the land of Attalya, there is a region called Terentia. The Crown Prince has more magic than anyone else in Attalya and is very interested in learning all he can about the Fae who long ago abandoned the world of humans, but left a little of their magic in Attalya. The Crown Prince, Davorin hides his magic as much as possible. His brother Lachlan is envious of that magic which he does not possess and is jealous of the King's obvious favoring his brother.

Davorin ventures to another region where he believes he can learn much more about the Fae and obtain what is needed to follow them or even bring them back.
