A Dangerous Universe 9: The Star Traveler by Saxon Andrew
A Dangerous Universe 9 - The Star Traveler is Saxon Andrew's newest book in the Dangerous Universe Series. These are stand-alone books that explores the notion that we live in a dangerous universe. Each book is a complete story and is independent from the others. A Dangerous Universe 9 - The Star Traveler has humanity confronting issues far more dangerous than aggressive alien civilizations (although they are in the story).

Scientists have determined the Sun is becoming highly unstable, and they have determined that it will soon go nova. A rush to construct colony ships has started and the first one was finally completed. The ship was named the Star Traveler and before any other colony ships could be built; the Sun exploded.

This is the story of the surviving humans' quest to find a new planet to start a new beginning. Making that happen was not going to be easy; everywhere the Star Traveler went it encountered alien civilizations intent on its destruction. But one man who was forced against his will on board the colony ship would make all the difference in the struggle to survive. The ultimate shocking discovery was that the Sun didn't explode by accident; it was deliberately caused by events that happened thousands of years in humanity's past during the Dark and Middle Ages.

Now humanity not only has to find a new planet to colonize but must also confront the ones who caused the destruction of Earth.

A Dangerous Universe 9 - The Star Traveler

It took two hours to arrive, and Jake slowed to match the speed of the Star Traveler that was moving parallel to his position. He was located at the edge of the huge ship’s scanning range, and he sat back on his chair, “Anything on the passive scanners, Tee?”
“I’m detecting something in warp space on the edge of my scanning range that is moving this way.”
Jake sat up and said, “Make an active scan and push it!”
“Jake, I have eight hundred plus star ships following the course Sarah is taking back to the Star Traveler!”
“Why haven’t we detected their scans?”
“It appears their scanners are more advanced than ours and they’re only using passive scans, Jake.”
Jake pressed a button on his console, “STAR TRAVELER, I HAVE EIGHT HUNDRED STARSHIPS MOVING ON A COURSE TOWARD YOUR CURRENT POSITION! CHANGE COURSE NOW!”
Tee instantly announced, “Jake! Those ships are moving at a faster speed than the Star Traveler’s maximum speed!”
Jake yelled over the communicator, “GET OUT OF HERE AND I’LL TRY TO DELAY THEM!”
“Commander Calico, you need to get back now!” Admiral Golden said with a harsh tone.
“Sorry Sir, those ships are moving faster than our maximum speed; however, I don’t believe they have detected the Traveler yet! You must change course and go to maximum speed to avoid being attacked!”
“I’m transmitting the course we’re taking, Commander.”
“I have the course, Jake,” Tee confirmed.

The action begins on the first page and doesn't let up. The sudden twists and turns will keep you guessing about what's coming next all the way to the end. So, settle in for a wild ride; this is a story that will be difficult to put down.
